"Diagnosed in ten minutes what the dealer shop missed twice. Saved me hundreds."
Check engine light? We'll tell you why.
Mobile check engine light diagnostics across Hampton Roads. Honest answers before we touch a wrench.
Anybody can clear a check engine light. The trick is knowing what set it off, whether it'll come back, and whether the code is even pointing at the actual problem (it often isn't). That's our work.
Solid, flashing, or won't go away after the gas cap trick. There's a reason and we'll find it.
Shakes at a stoplight, dies in drive-thru, won't smooth out. Usually a sensor or vacuum issue.
Suddenly burning more gas? Bad O2 sensor, clogged injector, or a leak somewhere in the intake.
Cranks long before catching, won't catch when warm, intermittent no-start. Diagnosis pinpoints it fast.
Bucks under acceleration, lags on hills, drops out at cruise. Could be fuel, ignition, or transmission.
Second opinion on a "your engine is shot" diagnosis. We've found a $40 part fix more times than we can count.
OBD-II scanner connected, all stored codes pulled, including pending and freeze-frame data so we see when the fault triggered.
Codes lie. We check live sensor data, fuel trims, voltage, and ground integrity to confirm what the code is actually saying.
Bench-test the suspect sensor or component (multimeter, scope, swap if needed) before we recommend a replacement.
We tell you exactly what's wrong, what it'll cost in parts + labor, and whether we can fix it today. No surprise add-ons.

"Diagnosed in ten minutes what the dealer shop missed twice. Saved me hundreds."
"Honest about what needed fixing, and what didn't. Texted me a video of the bad sensor. Total class."
"Check engine light came back three times after another shop. These guys found the actual ground problem in 20 minutes."
Yes. Modern diagnostic work is more about the scanner, live data, and electrical testing than the lift. We bring all of it to your driveway, parking lot, or wherever the car is.
The only thing a shop has that we don't is the lift, and 90% of CEL diagnoses don't require lifting the car.
Because clearing a code doesn't fix the problem. If the underlying fault is still there, the system re-detects it on the next drive cycle and turns the light back on.
Shops sometimes clear codes to get a car out the door. We don't. We fix the root cause so it stays off.
Call us. Most diagnostic work is a flat rate that includes the scan, sensor verification, and a written quote for any repair we recommend. If we do the repair, the diagnostic fee usually rolls into the job.
You can pull the code. But the code is a symptom, not the diagnosis. A P0420 doesn't necessarily mean a bad catalytic converter. It might be an upstream O2 sensor, an exhaust leak, or a wiring issue.
That's where a real mechanic earns it: interpreting what the code is telling you versus what it's actually saying.
We pull freeze-frame data: the conditions at the moment the code triggered (RPM, load, temp, throttle position). Then we drive the car to replicate those conditions and watch live sensor data until the fault shows up.
Fill this out and we'll call you back, usually within the hour during business hours. No bots, no call center, no obligation.
Same-day call back. Honest diagnosis. Most jobs done in one visit.
